Life lately seems to have quickened in pace. My day job has just got crazy busy and I know that is what adds to the time flying by. Because of this I have been putting in place a few strategies to ensure I maintain a good life balance.  I have started to allocate one day every other weekend just for me. Knowing I have this time, in among the demands of every day life, has made such a difference. It’s allowed me to enjoy the fun times such as a wine tasting evening where I found out about the different regions and grapes, and feel much more informed about which wines to buy.  It was such good fun that I’ve also discovered a couple of local wine shops have regular evenings like these and will be popping along to one of these very soon. I grabbed my camera and a warm coat for a dawn photo session in the Warwickshire countryside.  I enjoyed it so much I am going to make this a regular activity, I just need to decide what to photograph next. I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon with my friends Tracey and Kelly, to celebrate Kelly’s birthday.  We opted for the Rose and Crown in Warwick and over their infamous Sunday lunch opened presents and chatted the time away. I couldn’t resist having the pecan and pumpkin pie one last time before the winter menu finishes. I’ve enjoyed a girly shopping day in Birmingham with Teresa. After catching up over lunch, at The Balcony in Selfridges, we had a great time shopping and helping each other with ideas for our spring/ summer wardrobes.  Here in the UK we’ve celebrated Mother’s Day and I took Mum to one of her favourite restaurants, the Noel Arms in Chipping Campden, for lunch.  There was a lovely menu for the day and we indulged a little.  I jumped off the work treadmill and had a wonderfully relaxing day at The Malvern Spa with Tracey.  How one can feel so tired after not doing much I don’t know, but it is just what we both needed.

I’m already looking forward to the next few weeks with a long weekend in Dublin panned but beyond that, at the moment, I have no plans and will relish being spontaneous.
