Motivational Monday – one word to inspire your month. We’re on the verge of entering my favourite time of the year. I absolutely love Autumn and now is the time to PREPARE for the change in the season.

There’s a feel to the air that you only get at this time of year. It’s time to prepare for sunny days, where the sky is blue, with a nip in the air but there’s still warmth in the sun. These are the best days where you can grab a scarf and it’s just starting to get cold enough to sit in front of a log fire. It’s a time of year that I fell for many years ago. With the changes to nature and the abundance of new foods, it surely is a wonderful time of the year. Whilst I realise it means shorter days it also means cosy nights. I’ve already been snuggling on the sofa with my fur blanket as it’s still not quite cold enough for anything more.  I’ve changed my summer duvet for a heavier weight and switched my linen over to a darker shade to create a more sumptuous feel. I’ve been cooking more comforting foods and have found a few new dishes to tantalise my taste buds.  October is my excuse for overdosing on anything pumpkin. It won’t be long until I’m wearing my cashmere and boots again.

What do you love about Autumn?

I can smell Autumn dancing in the breeze, the sweet chill of pumpkin and crisp sun burnt leaves

Autumn the season that teaches us that change can be beautiful

Autumn the year’s last loveliest smile

A fallen leave is nothing more than a summer’s wave goodbye

There’s always something to be thankful for
