Last September my friend Clare from Need Another Holiday set herself a challenge to Take 12 Trips in a year. These could be anything from a day trip to a short break to a long vacation. Thinking what a fabulous idea this was I decided to join her to see if I too could discover twelve new places or even re-discover new things in some of my favourite places.
So how did I do?
#1 The beautiful city of Lincoln Enjoying fine dining and culture
#2 A day trip in Chipping Campden Spending time in one of my favourite places
#3 A mini staycation in Birmingham Celebrating birthdays and enjoying the UK’s 2nd city
#4 Christmas in the Cotswolds Making wonderful memories to cherish
#5 A weekend break in Ireland Having fun in the Emerald Isle
#6 Exploring Newcastle Discovering that the North has a lot to offer
#7 London at Night Taking a night time stroll
#8 Exploring Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter Learning about Birmingham’s jewellery manufacturing
#9 Exploring Kinver Edge and Rock Houses Learning what life was like living in a rock
#10 Uptown House and Gardens Getting a birds eye view of this stunning 1930s country estate
#11 Historic Norwich Architectural reminders of the Normans
#12 Postcards from Cromer Watch the crabs don’t bite in this traditional English seaside town
#13 Postcards from Wells-Next-The-Sea An area of outstanding natural beauty
#14 Postcards from Holt A beautiful gem hidden in North Norfolk
#15 Postcards from Sandringham Exploring one of my favourite places in Norfolk
#16 Hanbury Hall and Gardens, Worcestershire Exploring the house and gardens plus spending time with the staff and volunteers
Along with the sixteen trips above there have been other days out that I have taken but not blogged. You’ll see I haven’t taken a trip abroad this year, but it just goes to show there are lots of beautiful places to visit here in the UK.
What would your Take12Trips look like?
