Is there anything better than spending time in a City you love?

There’s something about the buzz of London that excites me.  I love spending time there.  Whether it’s a shopping trip, sight seeing, visiting the museums and art galleries or just walking around exploring different boroughs – I could never be bored.

On my most recent visit, with SBA and LBA, it was a shopping trip and a visit to the Ivy Restaurant (see Can our expectations sometimes be too high?). We decided to avoid the crowds and head towards Sloane Square and the Kings Road.  We were lucky and had a warm sunny day which always makes London feel alive.

I love Sloane Square it has such a relaxed feel but with it’s own London buzz. Our first shop is always Tiffany&Co, on this occasion a few purchases were made for SBA’s birthday, she’s such a lucky girl!  I too have a weakness for Tiffany&Co jewellery, but I couldn’t decide between three necklaces I liked, so I’m going to have a ponder about it.   We had a look in some of the other stores and then headed down the Kings Road.

The Kings Road is a mix of high end high street, designer, general high street and boutiques.  We visited the lovely Duke of York square which is ‘an oasis of calm in the heart of Chelsea’.

We stopped and had a light lunch at Patisserie Valerie and it was also a great opportunity for people watching.

I found a number of dresses I liked in the boutiques, it’s always nice to find something unique.  We popped into an interiors store which reminded me of Hatton and Harding.  I then made my first visit to Anthropologie.  I really didn’t know where to look first the clothes or the shop interiors. This is a unique shopping experience with some great designers.  As I was looking for a few pieces to build my new A/W wardrobe I purchased this Granite Gila pullover which I think will look great with the grey wool maxi skirt I’m buying.

Having walked the length of the Kings Road it was time to head to the Ivy Restaurant.  There was time after diner to pop to Covent Garden where we couldn’t resist having a look in Kurt Geiger.  If we hadn’t just had diner I would have been very tempted by Ladurée, I just adore their macaroons.

After such a lovely day……’s a shame it has to come to an end.
