Is it that time of year already?
I can't believe that already it is September, where has the year gone?! Quite honestly I feel a bit cheated this year, we really don't seem to have had much of a summer at all. However I can't say that I am not excited, whilst it means we are on the slippery slope down to December, it also means the new Autumn/ Winter clothes are hitting the high street. You'll know from Is there anything better than Autumn/ Winter clothes? that this is my favourite time of the year. I love the textures and colours of this seasons clothes and accessories. So I was excited to be invited to the Harvey Nichols aw12 bloggers preview on Saturday which gave me and other Birmingham bloggers the opportunity to see what's on offer this year.
En route to Harvey Nichols, I met up with Teresa from I am into this and we sampled some of the fabulous coffees in Cafe Blend, one of Birmingham's independent coffee shops. Heading to Harvey Nichols we weren't the first to arrive, Emily Jayne, Luxx Mint and Wardrobe Mag had already arrived. It wasn't long before styleguile and Fashion Mommy joined us and the group was complete.
We were treated to the Chef's new menu for the Autumn as well as a first look at the new Christmas goodies that will shortly be in store. We all loved the iChoc, with Mango and Liquorice flavours being the most popular.
The ladies fashion preview gave a good idea as to what the trends for A/W12 are going to be. For my City Chic style I liked the Alice and Olivia peplum dress and the Isabel Marant Etoile T-Shirt with For All Mankind jeans for casual City Chic.
This Philip Armstrong dress was a hit with everyone.
After the fashion came the beauty and we were able to sample some of the beauty treatments and products that are offered in store. This included Creme de la Mer facials, make-overs from Benefit, Sue Devitt and Nars. I had a make over with Kitty from Benefit. I've got a few products from the new WOW range that I am trying and so far I'm really liking them.
Of course I couldn't visit the store with out having a good look at the new ranges. So in between all of activities I found the following things that caught my eye and would really work with my City Chic style. I can't wait for the Harvey Nichols A/W fashion show next week to see more of their A/W12 collections.
